After a few months of patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for a job opening at USU, Zach finally got to apply and go through the interview process to become a flight instructor. He was hired and has been working with students since being back from the trip. He was starting with just 2-3 students but starting next week will be taking on a bunch more from an instructor who is leaving. So he will be teaching 9 students! We hope it will go okay because he still has a full load of classes he is taking this semester. He will be extremely busy but it's what needs to happen to get him to his goal of applying for the commercial airlines before December. Go Zach!
To celebrate him getting a job, we went out on a little dinner date at our local Thai restaurant. It was delicious and Zach gave me his best smile to document :)
Zach's schedule has picked up again obviously with these changes and he doesn't get to spend much time around the boys now. I can tell he really misses them when he asks me to keep them up a bit longer so he can say goodnight before they go to sleep. Or when he walks in the door and the first thing he does is hug them and stare at their faces and ask them about their day. He is such a great daddy. Tonight when he got home after 8:00pm, I had the boys up watching a movie and as he was trying to get some dinner Eli kept saying "Daddy! Sit down! Sit down and snuggle watch a show!" They sure love him and we are excited to be his supporters through this crazy aviation journey ahead of us!
Zach did not want to take this picture but I was so excited to see his official office in the hanger! It has his name by the door :) We brought him lunch between flights.
