I wanted to go all out for Jack and Eli's birthday. It's the first year I had NO other responsibilities besides my family to worry about. I was so excited to put all my teacher energy that was being wasted to good use planning a party they would love. We had a superhero training party! Superhero themed snacks, dressing up, and little games to train them in different super hero skills. Then they got to defeat the bad guys at the end. Jack and Eli were completely in their element (and I was too getting to play teacher again with little kids!) and it made me so happy seeing my efforts all pay off. We all had a BLAST!
The present and cake table.
One of my prouder moments in life was creating a spider and hulk cupcake for my spider and hulk obsessed boys. SO not perfect because this isn't my skill set by they approved and that's all that mattered to me!
Dress up station! Everyone got to go home with a mask and cape.
fruit kabobs to match the superhero
found a perfect cookie cutter to do this with!
captain America shields (pretzels and chocolate)
green gatorade made the perfect hulk punch.
The spider crawl and web shooting station. Webs made from a trash bag and cutting it snowflake style.
The bad guys made a fun decoration on the rock wall and I pulled them down when it was time to fight!
Balancing over a hot lava pit.
Before our friends arrived and ready to party!
Everyone who was invited lived an hour away (no new friends yet...) and we were so happy everyone was willing to make the drive! My boys felt so loved and were so happy.
First training was learning how to fly. So Jack and Eli taught them the proper flying position and they ran up and down the hill. So simple yet so fun for them!
Next was building their strength. We spray painted styrofoam to make some weights.
Zach was so fun and demonstrated how to lift the really heavy weight. I think the kids totally believed it was heavy until they got to try.
Next was practicing balance with the lava pits.
Next was making shields to practice shield skills. They colored paper plates with a duct tape handle on the back and we threw balls at them while they deflected!
Next was the HULK SMASH! They each took a turn knocking down the buildings and all had fun building it up each time.
Next was crawling through the spider tunnel and shooting spider webs!
Then they got to defeat all the villains! It was so funny watching how serious it was to punch and fight these balloons.
Cupcake time! They were the cutest. And Jack couldn't get his candles blown out for some reason. He looked so embarrassed but Eli jumped in and blew them for him. I love twins!
They were spoiled with presents from their friends. All having to do with superheros and they were so excited.
Some friends stayed longer after the party and it was so cute watching these love birds dance :)
After everyone left, we gave the boys their first BIKES!! And Jake and Les gave them cute helmets. We decided on balance bikes. At first they were a bit confused how to work it without pedals and it was slow going that first day. They were so patient and just kept trying and by the next day they had already gotten so much better. And now they can race down the huge hill in the backyard and even go down part of the huge driveway. I'm amazed at how fast they learned to balance and it for sure something they now love to do!!
We took them out for a pizza dinner at Blaze and walked over to the fountain as well. So fun to live by my siblings who love my kids so much!
Earlier, Josh and Emily took them to paint their own statue for their birthday. They had a great time.
Jack painted a bunny he calls "Patchy"
Eli painted a puppy he calls "pirate"
