Zach's first 3 day trip

When you're a commercial pilot, it is very common to have a schedule where you are gone for 3 or 4 days at a time. We got to have a little trial run of what that might be like in our future! To get more hours done in a short amount of time, he decided to do a 3 day trip this week. Him and his instructor flew to San Fransisco on Tuesday and spent the night, then up to Seattle on Wednesday and spent the night, then flew back home to Logan on Thursday. He got a little over 17 hours done just in that trip which is awesome! We all survived! When he's away I miss him A LOT. Especially at night once the kids are in bed and the house is quiet and feels empty. But I thought it went well and I know we will get used to that being our normal when the times come. Technology is so amazing these days being able to see each other still without physically being together.
Here's some pictures he took on his trip:
San Fran!
The airport gave them a courtesy care to use and the hotel gave them 50% off. Perks of being a pilot! They went to Pier 39 and ate at Bubba Gumps which is Zach's all-time favorite.
Flying the coast the next morning.

Don't know what it's called, but an awesome looking lake in California!
 Mount Shasta
Crater Lake in Oregon. The video he took of this is gorgeous although he says it doesn't do it justice. He said it was just SO blue. Jealous of these views he gets to experience!
 The Three Sisters
 Mount St. Helens
The beautiful lushness of Washington state.
Oh my heart! He flew over where I lived! This is Cottage Lake in Woodinville. Our old home and neighborhood is on this lake. In this pic you can see our church, our house, our grocery story! Just so cool for me to think that he found that!
 Mt. Rainier
They took a tour of the Boeing Factory. He got to see planes being built and see lots of huge aircraft.
The plane in the middle was the one he flew. Among all these other private jets and giant planes he felt kinda silly :)
Right after we got home from picking him up on Thursday, he showed the boys some souvenirs he got them at Boeing. He bought them all (including himself) a little plane. It was so cute seeing their excitement, and even cuter to me that Zach thought to get them something. We are happy to have him home safe with us again. It's amazing to me all that he is accomplishing and I'm so happy he is loving every minute of it!
