The hard stuff: They can officially throw tantrums where they lay on the floor, fling their head back, cry loudly, the works. I thought that wasn't supposed to come until 2, but it's here already! They do not like feeling hungry, or just not having food constantly in general haha. If they see anyone eating at anytime, they will whine and cry until they get fed too. This makes eating ourselves pretty difficult! We feed them 3 big meals and sometimes snacks in between, but it just never seems enough for these growing boys! They all of a sudden have strong opinions about their food too. If they decide they don't want to eat what's on their tray they throw a fit.
Jack stealing food. And now Eli will do this. They both love their food!
When these boys are beyond whiny and nothing else will calm them, we can always count on Baby Einstein videos. It always gives me some uninterrupted time to get some dinner together.
Eli loves to watch with his arms up like this. This is also his go to position when falling asleep. They LOVE these snack cups. It keeps them busy as they feed themselves while I try to cook an actual dinner for them.
Another trick that always helps the fussies is bath time!
The fun stuff: They have the cutest personalities developing and are getting so fun to play with. They are remembering songs/fingerplays and acting along to them (patty cake, if you're happy and you know it, 5 little monkeys). It's so fun seeing them learn with music and loving music. Jack has developed some super cheesy and cute smiles this month. Eli loves to scrunch his nose to smile. They pucker their lips like champs. They both love to play chase and wrestle with daddy and would crawl around our kitchen island all day with him if they could. They laugh and scream and it's so fun to watch.

Jack
Jack somehow got his shirt off while attempting to take a nap. Houdini.
The smart stuff: They say 'HI' constantly-on the phone, out the window, when someone walks in the door, etc. I love it when Eli peeks around and corner and says it with a smile. They can point to their nose and 'button'. They respond and do the correct actions to 'go get it', 'blow kisses', 'give hugs', 'clap', 'give kisses', 'bonk', 'where's the light?'. They love to point to everything, especially pictures in books.
Making car sounds with the puzzle pieces
The walking stuff: Jack has become super confident walking and can walk across the room easily but hasn't mastered past that point. Eli can take several steps in a row but isn't super confident to go on his own without convincing. It has been so fun to see this milestone developing! The growing stuff: They each have 4 teeth on top, 3 teeth on bottom, and the 4th on bottom is cutting. They have given up the bottle (except a morning one when they wake up) and only drink from sippy cups during the day. They weigh 25 pounds or even a little over. Zach weighed them together the other day and they weigh 52 pounds together. Huge! They still wear size 4 diapers, 18month/2T tops and 12 month bottoms.
Eating at the big kid table at cousin Emma's baby blessing
The sleeping stuff: They sleep from 7:00pm-7:00am. Give or take half hour on either end. They take a good long morning nap around 9:30 that can sometimes last 2 hours. Some days they don't take a second nap in the afternoon, sometimes they take one around 2:00 for up to an hour. Lots of sleep for these growing boys!

love this post kar! love these boys even more :) ~Jamie
