We went Saturday morning at 10:00 and there were very little crowds for us to wander through. That, along with the cool weather, made it so enjoyable! We walked around all the booths, tractor displays, animals, and let Jack and Eli try their first pony ride.
We sat and waited for a dog show to start for about 30 minutes. The lady just never stopped talking or letting the dogs out, so we finally left. Big bummer!
They were obviously a little nervous to get on the ponies, but we were so proud of them for doing it! It's so funny because they get SO serious when they are trying something new or out of their comfort zones. They won't smile at all, even if we think the are enjoying it. They sure looked SO cute in the little saddles and holding on like big boys bouncing up and down.
The bird room was pretty neat. So many different kinds of chickens and roosters I didn't even know existed. Such variety!
We've learned our kids are not farm boys. Animals really make them nervous. They tolerate looking at them behind cages, but definitely do not enjoy getting too close. Jack kept moving his feet up to get away when the pig would try to smell him.
Here Jack is just full on closing his eyes trying to be brave and forget that there is a giant sheep next to him as Eli cautiously looks wit his hands reverently folded. I love my shy boys!
Then my mom and Emily spontaneously decided to join us since they were in town looking at an apartment for Em. So we got to stay even longer and feasted on corn dogs, homemade root beer, and funnel cake for lunch. The highlight for the boys was getting a surprise visit from Nana and Em and getting balloons.
