Live long and prosper

Because our team is out there working such long hours to win The Cup, the wives went out yesterday to pass out water/lemonade/popsicles/fudgesicles for a quick pick me up as they knocked. ROAD TRIPPP!! Well I guess it was just Kensey and I, but Amanda was sick and the others have kids to tote around so it wouldn't have been too fun to drive all day. We left at 2:00 and the boys were spread out between 4 of the smallest/dinkiest towns I've ever seen. It took a good 3 1/2 hours to reach all of them. But to make this drive even better, we decided we wanted to borrow Steve's kayak to get some fun in there since we were driving all that way. We couldn't find the boat straps (not that we could have figured out how to strap it to the car anyways) so we managed to shove a huge kayak inside our 4 Runner. I couldn't see a thing out the right side of the vehicle and Kensey had to sit in the seat right behind me the whole time because that was all that was left. We were cracking up at how ridiculous we looked the whole time.

It was fun meeting up with all the boys throughout the day. Then we asked a random local where the closest place to go kayaking would be. We went just 20 minutes to Little Bow and ventured out into the lake. It was a one person kayak but we squoze both of us in there somehow! Again we looked awesome. The lake was super gross by the shore with tons of nasty moss and seaweed but out where the motor boats were was so pretty. I kept freaking out when boats would zoom past us cuz we would have to then get pushed around by their wakes. And if we tipped, there was no way we were getting out of that thing easily with both of us in it! We learned we are not professional kayakers as we spent much of our time making complete circles over and over. We blame it on the other boats. It was so fun adventuring around though and enjoying the beauty.

Because of some misscomunication we ended up staying in town to wait an hour for the boys to be done working. So to kill time we got some Subway, had dance parties in the parking lot with our awesome tunes, and of course enjoyed all that the little town of Vulcan had to offer. This town prides itself in having everything be about Star Trek. No joke. Aliens are on the street signs and they have this museum that is hilarious.

This museum is a space ship. Flashing lights and everything.

Just chillin with some Vulcan aliens. It's normal.

Kensey had no idea about anything Star Trek so I had to tell her that's the sign they make with their hands. Kids these days ;)
