15 Months

Weight: Jack weighs 28.8 pounds and Eli weighs 26.6 pounds

Sizes: Wear 2T shirts and 12-18 month bottoms. Still in size 4 diapers.

Sleep: Sleep great through the night still. Second nap is gone now. Although they often take a 'quiet hour' in the afternoon where they just chill in their crib.
Words: No new verbal words, but this month they learned to say "please" and "all done" in sign language and we are working on "thank you".

The rest of this update will be random things I want to remember about this stage and things I love about them right now. If it seems they are always naked, it's because they are. Daddy takes care of them while I work and naked is their outfit of choice :)

  • Jack gets overly excited/surprised about everything and does a very specific series of faces. He puckers his lips out with his eyebrows up then bursts into a wide open full faced grin. He does this when you fill up his cup with water from the fridge, when he hears a unique sound, sticks his hand in a cup of water, etc. Basically anything. I'll be so sad when he stops!
  • Eli smiles the cheesiest smile and often a forced fake smile when you take a picture of him. Seeing the pre flash will cue him to do this and it makes me laugh!
  • They now give kisses with their mouths closed and say "mmmuh". They still kiss stuffed animals and anything you ask them to. They also give spontaneous kisses and hugs to me and it melts my heart.
  • They started taking toys, binkies, sippy cups, to the other if they have it and the other doesn't (mostly Jack does this). So sweet seeing him share and think of his brother in this way.
  • They love to be outside. We've had the warmest December ever and have still be able to spend time outside. We've started to be able to take walks with them without a stroller. So fun to see them waddling around freely for the first time. I walked over with them to the playground in our townhome community the other day and I couldn't believe how big they seemed as we did that.
  • Had their first sucker! It was so fun to watch their joy as they experienced that sugar rush. Eli cried when we took it away after a few minutes.
  • Love to have books read to them, but only for a few seconds per book. They 'uh uh' and point to the bookshelf until you've showed them every book before they are satisfied.
  • They started folding their arms this month. For prayers it only lasts a few seconds but I'm happy they at least start out the prayer with arms folded. Eli went through a little phase where he would walk around folding his arms and now Jack is going through the same phase. It's the cutest and so funny!
  • At night they love to rough house with daddy. We all laugh our heads off and no one can entertain them they way he can. They love to be chased and tickled. If you pretend to even lunge at them, they will throw themsleves on the ground, put their hand up, kick their legs, and wait to be tickled.
Zach made lego cars that said their names one night.
  • They love to cuddle and lounge on the couch when watching a show on tv. Jack will grab the remote, fall back into the cushions, pull a blanket on him, and wait for us to turn something on. Eli will snuggle in the same way.
  • Will pose for pictures. They back up against the wall and stand or sit still while I take it.
  • Tub time is crazy time. Splashing like no other and they feed off each others ideas. It's a blast every time. They have started trying to bend over of the side to get in themselves, but can't do it safely yet.
 saying hi to his reflection
  • Like playing with wipes and 'cleaning' surfaces.
  • I started letting them explore with feeding themselves with spoons. So messy. But they get so excited when I let them.
  • Jack eats with his leg up.

  •  They find it hilarious to 'hit' their head over and over. The laugh so hard at this.
